Rosie's Brexit Diary
23 December 2018

French military accuse Emmanuel Macron of “trahison” - or in English, “Treason”

General Antoine Martinez is a current general in the French Air Force. On 7 December he wrote an open letter to Emmanuel Macron saying this:

“Vous vous rendriez coupable d’un déni de démocratie, voire de trahison à l’égard de la nation.” which translates as:

“You would be guilty of a denial of democracy or treason against the nation.”

The letter concerns the  "Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration" (refer to Brexit Diary of 26 November, part 2) which Emmanuel Macron signed on the 10th or 11th of December.

Once again, nothing has been heard about this letter in the British press, and (as far as I can see) it is not reported in the mainstream French newspapers - but certainly there is much greater freedom of speech and more open discussion in France than in Britain.

Translation summarised by Rosie - merely to write this letter into English and put it on my site makes me feel extremely anxious - so much so that I have removed some of the text for fear that I could be arrested for breach of the ‘hate’ laws.

You are about to sign the "Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration" on 10 and 11 December, which establishes a legal right to migration. It will impose itself on our national legislation.

You should not give up this national sovereignty with public debate especially when 80% of the French population opposes any further immigration. Signing this pact gives an already battered people an additional reason to revolt. You will be guilty of a denial of democracy or treason against the nation.

The finances of our country are drained and our debt is growing. You will need to further increase taxes.

The first objective of politicians is to ensure security of the external borders and harmony within those borders. The arrival of non-Europeans makes internal harmony and social coherence more and more difficult.

The state is too slow to realise that it is impossible to integrate large numbers of people of a totally different culture, and who no longer submit to the laws of the Republic of France.

You should not have the power to decide to erase our civilization and deprive the French people of their ancient homeland.

The letter was signed by the following:

Charles MILLON – Former Minister of Defense

General Marc BERTUCCHI

I asked the Daily Telegraph readers if the letter is making waves in France. JOC replied (paraphrased by Rosie):

“Unlike in our country, I can claim that in France there is a very serious debate about the cultural changes in their country.

To raise such issues is not considered racist, fascist, ROP-phobic.

The French are a very serious nation, and in May 2019 I expect Macron will do badly, whilst the parties wanting to control immigration and which are not politically correct shall do very well. They have journalists....tragically we have the BBC, Channel4 , Skynews. etc”

This time it is Britain that needs the rest of the world to come to our rescue.
